Russian Cinema Week in Bíó Paradís October 26th – October 31st

Russian Cinema Week will for the first time take place in Reykjavik on October 26-31. The program includes contemporary feature films, documentaries and animation films. These screenings will be the part of the cultural events on occasion of 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russian and Iceland.

sibir3The opening of Russian Cinema Week will take place on October 26 in Bio Paradis at 18:00 with the screening of the film “Siberia. Monamur”. Q&A with film director Slava Ross will follow the screening. – free entrance

Siberia. In taiga, in an abandoned village an old man and his grandson wait for the boy’s father, who will never come back. A man and his wife raise three daughters, and that is the only thing that still ties them. A captain, who’s passed through two Caucasian wars, tries to find his place in peace life. The fates of these heroes interlace unexpectedly and dramatically. They need to make their choice again and again, uncovering inward humanity and compassion, that had been forgotten long ago. Mercy is beyond justice.

Brest 2On October 27 -18:00 we invite everyone for the screening of “Brest Fortress” at Bio Paradis at 18:00. This film tells about the very first days of the Great Patriotic War (Russian part of the World War 2), about heroism, fear, will to live and power of love of the defenders of the Fortress.
